  1. Who is eligible for Roam Better?

    Roam Better is available to customers on most monthly plans, including Share plans, voice and text only plans, and Small Business plans. Roam Better is not available on prepaid plans, corporate accounts and plans that include roaming services.

  2. Is Roam Better available for international destinations besides the U.S.?

    Roam Better has you covered in over 110 destinations, including the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and international destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Mexico, Central and South America, Asia, South Africa, Oceania and the Middle East. View current country list  . If you previously enrolled in Roam Better, the Roam Better feature on your account will be automatically updated to include all additional Roam Better destinations. If your travel destination is not included in Roam Better, you can purchase a Travel Pass.

  3. Does Roam Better work with Unlimited Canada and U.S. plans?

    If you are on the Unlimited Canada and U.S. plan, and you currently subscribe to Roam Better you will not be charged the $5/day charge while roaming in the U.S., as your rate plan would cover roaming in the U.S. If you are roaming in a Roam Better International destination with the Unlimited Canada and U.S. plan and subscribe to Roam Better you will be covered with Roam Better International, which gives you unlimited incoming and outgoing calls, and text usage in the roaming destination you are in and back to Canada, plus 100 MB data for $10/day.

  4. Should I purchase a Travel Pass for a Roam Better destination if I have Roam Better?

    You should not purchase a Travel Pass for a Roam Better destination if you have Roam Better. If you have a Travel Pass and Roam Better active on your line while in a Roam Better destination, you will not have access to your Travel Pass allowance and Roam Better will apply to your roaming usage and charges.

  5. When does the daily allowance of 100 MB roaming data begin and expire?

    Your allowance begins upon your first data use in your Roam Better destination and expires at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on that same day, regardless of the time zone you are roaming in. Your daily data allowance will refresh with a new allotment of 100 MB at 12 a.m. ET the following day.

  6. How do I purchase more data?

    Once you use up your 100 MB of daily roaming data, you will automatically receive a notification that includes the option to purchase another 100 MB of daily roaming data for $5 in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) or for $10 in international Roam Better destinations. All additional data expires at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day the data was purchased. Your daily data allowance will refresh with a new allowance of 100 MB at 12 a.m. ET the following day.

  7. If I use up my 100 MB daily allowance of roaming data, will I still be able to make calls and send text messages for the rest of the day?

    Yes, you will still be able to make and receive unlimited calls and text messages within your Roam Better destination and back to Canada.

  8. Can I enroll in Roam Better through the MyBell app?

    To get Roam Better, simply text ROAM to 7626 (ROAM).

  9. Is there a maximum number of daily charges for Roam Better within the same billing period?

    Yes, you'll only be charged for a maximum of 20 days per line in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and a maximum of 20 days per line in other international destinations within the same billing period. You can continue enjoying unlimited talk and text and 100 MB of daily data at no additional cost for the rest of your billing period. You'll only be charged if you choose to purchase additional data above the 100 MB per day.

  10. How will I be charged if I'm enrolled in Roam Better while travelling?

    You will only be charged the Roam Better daily fee when you make or answer a call, send a text or when data is sent or received while in your Roam Better destination. For any days that you do not use voice, text or data in a Roam Better destination, you will not be charged the Roam Better daily fee. If you are enrolled in Roam Better but do not want to be charged when arriving at your Roam Better destination, make sure that data roaming is turned off on your device, don't make or answer any calls, and don't send any text messages.

  11. Does Roam Better include unlimited nationwide talk and text across my roaming destination?

    Yes. You can make unlimited voice calls and send unlimited text messages within your roaming destination and back to Canada without having to worry about additional charges. Additional charges are only applicable when you are making calls outside of your roaming destination. Calls back to Canada are not subject to additional charges. You can also receive unlimited incoming calls and incoming text messages from anywhere. Roaming in international destinations (outside the U.S., Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands) also includes unlimited outgoing international text messaging.

  12. Are there any charges when making calls or sending text messages outside of my Roam Better destination and Canada?

    Refer to the following table for additional charges for outgoing calls and text messages to destinations outside of the roaming destination and Canada.

  13. Are calls to toll-free numbers included with Roam Better?

    Calls to toll-free numbers are included while in the U.S., but they are not included while travelling internationally.

  14. Can I enroll in Roam Better if I'm already in a Roam Better destination?

    Yes, you can add Roam Better by texting ROAM to 7626 (ROAM) if you are on a Share plan with unlimited nationwide or unlimited local calling. Keep in mind that Roam Better will only take effect once you've enrolled; therefore, we recommend enrolling prior to travelling.

  15. Can I continue to use Roam Better when I get back to Canada?

    No. Roam Better is for when you are roaming in a Roam Better destination. When back in Canada, you will revert to your rate plan.

  16. How can I unsubscribe from Roam Better?

    Once you've enrolled in Roam Better, you will be covered for all future trips and will only be charged on days when you use your phone in a Roam Better destination. You will not be charged when you are not roaming. If you'd like to unsubscribe, please contact us.

  17. If I enroll in Roam Better, is everyone in my Share group enrolled too?

    No. Each member of your Share group needs to enroll separately by texting ROAM to 7626 (ROAM).

  18. Can I opt out of the SMS notifying me that my 100 MB daily data allotment has expired?

    Text message (SMS) notifications are part of the Roam Better service. If you prefer not to receive SMS notifications, please consider a different roaming option through bell.ca/travel.

Roam Better is available to customers on most monthly plans, including Share plans, voice and text only plans, and Small Business plans. If Roam Better is not available for your travel destination, you can purchase one of our affordable Travel Passes.

If you have a Travel Pass and Roam Better active on your line while in a Roam Better destination, you will not have access to your Travel Pass allowance and Roam Better will apply to your roaming usage and charges.
  • Roam Better may be incompatible with other roaming features on your line that require removal before you can add Roam Better.
  • Roam Better is a pay-per-use feature subject to change without notice, including coverage, rates and usage allowances.
  • You will only be charged for a maximum of 20 days per line in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and a maximum of 20 days per line in other international destinations within the same billing period. Additional charges for data top-ups still apply.
  • Premium texts are not included and are subject to additional charges.
  • Texts sent to international mobile numbers are not included and are subject to additional charges while using Roam Better in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands).
  • Roam Better is not to be used for roaming permanently or semi-permanently within any Roam Better destination(s).
  • Certain types of usage will not result in the daily charge, including: making a call to Bell customer service, receiving texts, or using non-chargeable data.
