ISECOM training and certification
OSSTMM Professional Security Tester and Professional Security Analyst
The Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM) is an open-source collaborative community dedicated to providing practical security awareness, research, certification and business integrity.
ISECOM provides certification, training support, and project support services for non-partisan and vendor-neutral funded projects. This approach ensures that ISECOM training programs, standards, and best practices are truly neutral of national or commercial influence.
ISECOM has developed the Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM), a peer-reviewed methodology for performing security tests and metrics.
Its test cases are divided into five sections, which collectively test:
- Information and data controls
- Personnel security awareness levels
- Fraud and social engineering control levels
- Computer and telecom networks
- Wireless and mobile devices
- Physical security access controls
- Security processes
- Physical locations such as buildings, perimeters, and military bases
The OSSTMM focuses on the technical details of exactly which items need to be tested, what to do before, during, and after a security test, and how to measure the results. New tests for international best practices, laws, regulations, and ethical concerns are regularly added and updated.
