Smart/Phone Care 

 
With your busy life, anything can happen to your mobile phone that may not be covered by the original manufacturer's standard warranty period, and replacing it can be costly. Smart/Phone Care coverage provides the option of a quick, convenient replacement of your Bell phone or smartphone, saving you time and money.

There are two plans to choose from:

Plan details

The Premium plan covers failure due to defects in parts and workmanship beyond the manufacturer's standard warranty period, accidental damage (including liquid damage), power surge, loss or theft and normal wear and tear for $7 a month. If your phone or smartphone requires repair during the original 12 month manufacturer's warranty period, simply visit a Bell Product Assistance Centre for service. The plan covers one phone or smartphone and allows for up to two replacements.

A replacement fee of $50 for a phone and $150 for a smartphone applies*. See a complete list of eligible phones or smartphones. Our goal is to give you the same make and model that you purchased. We may fulfill service requests with like-new equipment of the same or comparable model, but colour, features and accessory compatibility are not guaranteed.

These are month-to-month plans that can be cancelled at any time without termination fees.

Smart/Phone Care plans do not cover wireless connection cards, phones on prepaid accounts, SIM cards or accessories (including batteries and chargers).

Placing a service request

To file a service request under one of these plans, call 1 866 213-2143.Our Smart/Phone Care centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except on certain statutory holidays.

Once your request is approved, a replacement phone or smartphone will be shipped directly to you, typically within 1-2 business days1. When you receive your replacement phone or smartphone, simply return the damaged or defective covered equipment in the postage provided pre-paid box. Damaged or defective mobile phones or smartphones will not be returned to you.

Enroll in Smart/Phone Care

Enrollment in Smart/Phone Care must be done in store, either at the time of activation or within 15 days of your activation date**. If you purchased your new phone or smartphone online within the last 15 days and wish to enroll in the program, please visit your nearest Bell location**.

If you're not enrolled in Smart/Phone Care, you are still covered by the original manufacturer's warranty (within 12 months from purchase). If a repair is needed during this time, visit a Bell Product Assistance Centre for service. See a complete list of Product Assistance Centre locations. If the repair is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, you will be responsible for repair or replacement costs. You can also choose to purchase a new device at the no contract term rate.

** Visit a Bell store and enroll within 15 days of the purchase of the phone or smartphone. Customers not enrolling at time of purchase must present their phone or smartphone for visual inspection as damaged or defective units are not eligible. Monthly billing will begin immediately following verification that your service and account status are active.
After enrollment, a phone call must be completed to or from the covered phone or smartphone to complete your enrollment and for coverage to take effect.
