Change in Mobility rates 

  

Effective August 8th, 2008, all received text messages (excluding premium, alerts and dial-up text messages to which variable rates apply) will be charged 15¢ per message, unless you subscribe to a text messaging rate plan or bundle.


Effective August 8th, the price of international sent text messages will be 25¢ per message. Sent international text messages are not included in your text messaging bundle.


Effective August 17th, the price of roaming sent text messages will be 60¢ per sent message. Sent roaming text messages are not included in your text messaging bundle.


Cost to send text messages:

With a text messaging bundle or rate plan 
From Canada to Canada or to US - deducted from bundle
From Canada to International - 25¢ per message
From outside Canada - 60¢ per message

Without a text messaging bundle or rate plan 
From Canada to Canada or to US - 15¢ per message
From Canada to International - 25¢ per message
From outside Canada - 60¢ per message

Cost to receive text messages:

With a text messaging bundle or rate plan 
From Canada or US to Canada - included as unlimited received
From International to Canada - included as unlimited received

Without a text messaging bundle or rate plan

A Text Messaging bundle or Fun bundle is recommended for frequent users.

Within a text messaging bundle:

Sent messages include domestic text messages and exclude international, roaming, alerts, premium text messages and messages sent with an instant messaging application. Roaming messages include international GSM, CDMA and US CDMA messages.

Received messages include local, international, roaming and service related messages from Bell and exclude premium, alerts or dial-up messages.
