Stay connected when you travel with Roam Better, a feature you add with a one-time opt-in. By adding it to your account, you will save when roaming in the U.S. and internationally.

Choose between our two different options: select Roam Better - with home data to use the data from your account when travelling, or select Roam Better - with 100 MB to get 100 MB/day of data that doesn't come out of the data from your current plan.

  1. Who is eligible for Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB?

    Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB are available to customers on most monthly plans, including Share plans, voice and text plans, and Small Business plans. Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB are not available on prepaid plans, corporate accounts and plans that include roaming services.

  2. How do I purchase more data with Roam Better - with 100 MB?

    Once you use up your 100 MB of daily roaming data, you will automatically receive a notification that includes the option to purchase another 100 MB of daily roaming data for $7 in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) or for $11 in international Roam Better destinations. All additional data expires at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day the data was purchased. Your daily data allowance will refresh with a new allotment of 100 MB at 12 a.m. ET the following day.

  3. Are Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB available for international destinations besides the U.S.?

    Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB have you covered in over 180 destinations, including the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and international destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Mexico, Central and South America, Asia, South Africa, Oceania and the Middle East. See the list of countries . Once you enroll in Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB, your add-on is automatically updated to include all additional Roam Better destinations. If your travel destination is not covered by Roam Better, you can purchase a Travel Pass.

  4. Do Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB cover roaming charges on cruise ships and in-flight services?

    Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB do not cover roaming charges on cruise ships and in-flight services.

  5. Do Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB work with Unlimited Canada & U.S. plans?

    If you are on the Unlimited Canada & U.S. plan, and you currently subscribe to Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB:

    • If you are roaming in the U.S., you will not be charged the daily fee (Roam Better - with home data: $8/day, or Roam Better - with 100 MB: $7/day), as your rate plan covers U.S. roaming.
    • If you are roaming in a Roam Better international destination, you will be covered by Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB, which give you unlimited calls and text messages within your roaming destination and back to Canada, plus data usage depending on the option you selected (Roam Better - with home data: $12/day, or Roam Better - with 100 MB: $11/day).
  6. Should I purchase a Travel Pass for a Roam Better destination if I have Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB?

    You should not purchase a Travel Pass for a Roam Better destination if you have Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB on your account.

    If you have a Travel Pass and Roam Better - with home data active on your line while in a Roam Better destination, you will not have access to your Travel Pass allowance and Roam Better - with home data will apply to your roaming usage and charges.

    If you have a Travel Pass and Roam Better - with 100 MB active on your line while in a Roam Better destination, you will not have access to your Travel Pass allowance and Roam Better - with 100 MB will apply to your roaming usage and charges.

  7. How do I switch from Roam Better - with 100 MB to Roam Better - with home data?

    To switch to Roam Better - with home data, text ROAM to 8000. You will receive a text message to remove the current option from your account. Reply Y to confirm the removal. You will then receive a text message to add the new option. Simply reply ADD to confirm the addition.

    You can also log in to MyBell to make the switch. In MyBell, navigate to Buy travel add-ons and enter your travel destination. If the destination is covered by Roam Better, you will see both Roam Better options, with your current option pre-selected. To switch, simply select the other Roam Better option and submit the order.

    Keep in mind that Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB only take effect once you've enrolled; therefore, we recommend switching prior to travelling.

  8. Is there a maximum number of daily charges for Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB within the same billing period?

    Yes, you'll only be charged for a maximum of 20 days per line in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and in other international destinations within the same billing period.

    If you have Roam Better - with home data, you can continue enjoying unlimited talk and text and continue to use the data from your account at no additional cost for the rest of your billing period. You'll only be charged if you exceed the data included in your rate plan.

    If you have Roam Better - with 100 MB, you can continue enjoying unlimited talk and text and 100 MB of daily data at no additional cost for the rest of your billing period. You'll only be charged if you choose to purchase additional data above the 100 MB per day.

  9. How will I be charged if I'm enrolled in Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB while travelling?

    You will only be charged the Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB daily fee when you make or answer a call, send a text message, or when data is sent or received while in your Roam Better destination. For any days that you do not use voice, text or data in a Roam Better destination, you will not be charged the Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB daily fee. If you are enrolled but do not want to be charged when arriving at your Roam Better destination, make sure that data roaming is turned off on your device, don't make or answer any calls, and don't send any text messages.

  10. Do Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB include unlimited nationwide talk and text within my roaming destination?

    Yes. You can make unlimited voice calls and send unlimited text messages within your roaming destination and back to Canada without having to worry about additional charges. Additional charges are only applicable when you make calls to phone numbers outside of your roaming destination (other than Canada). Calls back to Canada are not subject to additional charges. You can also receive unlimited incoming calls and incoming text messages from anywhere. Roaming in international destinations (outside the U.S., Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands) also includes unlimited outgoing international text messaging.

  11. Are there any charges when making calls or sending text messages to phone numbers outside of my Roam Better destination (other than Canada)?

    Yes, calls to toll-free numbers are included while travelling in the U.S. and internationally.

  13. Can I enroll in Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB if I'm already in a Roam Better destination?

    Yes, you can add Roam Better - with home data by texting ROAM to 8000, or you can add Roam Better - with 100 MB by texting ROAM100 to 7626 (ROAM). Keep in mind that Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB will only take effect once you've enrolled; therefore, we recommend enrolling prior to travelling.

  14. Can I continue to use Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB when I get back to Canada?

    No. Roam Better - with home data and Roam Better - with 100 MB are for when you are roaming in a Roam Better destination. When back in Canada, you will revert to your rate plan.

  15. How do I unsubscribe from Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB?

    Once you've enrolled in Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB, you will be covered for all future trips and will only be charged on days when you use your phone in a Roam Better destination. You will not be charged when you are not roaming. If you'd like to unsubscribe, please contact us.

  16. If I enroll in Roam Better - with home data or Roam Better - with 100 MB, is everyone in my Share group enrolled too?

    No. Each member of your Share group needs to enroll separately by texting ROAM to 8000 for Roam Better - with home data, or by texting ROAM100 to 7626 (ROAM) for Roam Better - with 100 MB.

    Yes, you will still be able to make and receive unlimited calls and text messages within your Roam Better destination and back to Canada.

Roam Better is available to customers on most monthly plans, including Share plans, voice and text only plans, and Small Business plans. If Roam Better is not available for your travel destination, you can purchase one of our affordable Travel Passes.

  • Roam Better is not available on prepaid plans, corporate accounts and plans that include roaming services.
  • You should not purchase a Travel Pass for a Roam Better destination if you have Roam Better. If you have a Travel Pass and Roam Better active on your line while in a Roam Better destination, you will not have access to your Travel Pass allowance and Roam Better will apply to your roaming usage and charges.
  • Roam Better may be incompatible with other roaming features on your line that require removal before you can add Roam Better.
  • Roam Better is a pay-per-use feature subject to change without notice, including coverage, rates and usage allowances.
  • You will only be charged for a maximum of 20 days per line in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and a maximum of 20 days per line in other international destinations within the same billing period. Additional charges for data top-ups still apply.
  • Premium texts and Text to Landline messages are not included and are subject to additional charges.
  • Roam Better is not to be used for roaming permanently or semi-permanently within any Roam Better destination(s).
  • Certain types of usage will not result in the daily charge, including: making a call to Bell customer service, receiving texts, or using non-chargeable data.
