  1. Can I buy any smartphone on Bell SmartPay?

    Yes, subject to Bell’s credit approval process, Bell SmartPay is available with all our smartphones. Visit select Bell stores to learn more about Bell SmartPay pricing for each device.

  2. Can I pay for other devices with Bell SmartPay?

    Yes, select tablets and smartwatches are also available with Bell SmartPay. Qualified customers can activate multiple devices using Bell SmartPay on eligible 2 year rate plans.

  3. Is Smart/Phone Care available with Bell SmartPay?

    Yes. If you purchase your smartphone with Bell SmartPay, you can also add Smart/Phone Care to your plan. We highly suggest considering Smart/Phone Care since it is the best way to have your smartphone protected.

  4. What do I have to pay at time of purchase?

    You have to pay taxes on the full price of the device. Taxes are calculated based on the full price for the smartphone and are paid in-store at the time of purchase.

  5. What happens once the Bell SmartPay 24-month payment period ends?

    After 24 months, your Bell SmartPay installments Agreement will be paid off; therefore, you will no longer have monthly payments for your smartphone. As of month 25, you will only be charged the cost of your monthly rate plan.

  6. What happens if I want to cancel my Bell SmartPay agreement before the 24 months are done?

    You will be required to pay your remaining device balance immediately plus applicable tax and any outstanding service charges that you have incurred. In addition, you may be subject to an early cancellation fee for your service agreement.

  7. Can I combine the Device Return Option with Bell SmartPay?

    Yes, the Device Return Option can be combined with Bell SmartPay.

  8. How does the Device Return Option work with Bell SmartPay?

    Step 1: Pick one of our eligible smartphones.

    Step 2: Activate on an eligible 2-year plan with Bell SmartPay.

    Step 3: Return your smartphone in good working condition at the end of your 2-year term, or keep it and pay back the Device Return Option deferral amount you saved.

  9. Is Bell SmartPay available on all rate plan types?

    You will be able to pair your Bell SmartPay smartphone with the majority of our Unlimited Data and Connect Everything plans. Some plans may be excluded.

  10. What happens if I end my rate plan early or I change my rate plan to a non-eligible rate plan?

    If you end your rate plan early or change your rate plan to a non-eligible rate plan, you will have to pay an early cancellation fee for ending your services and your remaining device payments from your Bell SmartPay agreement will become due immediately.

  11. Can I upgrade to a new smartphone using Bell SmartPay?

    Yes. After one month of your Bell SmartPay agreement, if you are eligible for a device upgrade, you can activate any new smartphone with Bell SmartPay.

  12. Can I activate a smartphone with Bell SmartPay even though another user on my account already has a phone on a subsidized plan?

    Yes. Any additional users to the account can activate a smartphone with Bell SmartPay on eligible 2 year rate plans.

  13. Can I share the data on my plan with my existing tablet or other connected things?

    Yes. You can share data across existing devices by activating on a Connect Everything plan.

  14. Am I able to pay my device in full with a one-time payment?

    Yes, at any time you may pay your device in full with a one-time payment, ending your device financing arrangement.

Additional Important Bell SmartPay Conditions:

Bell SmartPay is available with new activations (or eligible upgrades) on eligible 2-year rate plans. Purchase financing provided by Bell Mobility, on approved credit. Cost of borrowing is $0. 

If you end your Bell SmartPay Agreement early, your remaining device payments will become due immediately and you may be subject to an early cancellation fee for your service agreement. If you end your rate plan early or change your rate plan to a non-eligible rate plan early, in addition to an early cancellation fee for services, your remaining device payments will become due immediately.

From time-to-time, we may offer promotional credits in connection to your Bell SmartPay Agreement which reduces your device payments. If you are receiving a promotional credit in connection to your Bell SmartPay Agreement and you end your Bell SmartPay Agreement early, the credit will no longer apply and your remaining device payments will become due immediately based on the full pre-credit price.

Speed and signal strength may vary due to traffic, topography, environmental conditions and other factors, including Bell’s Internet traffic management practices (e.g., priority access to emergency personnel and critical infrastructure personnel). See bell.ca/ITMP.

+Credit is applied monthly over 24 months on your device payments. If you end your Bell SmartPay Installment Agreement early,  the credit will no longer apply and your remaining device payments will become due immediately based on the full pre-credit amount.
