Important information about Call Break-in Service
The purpose of Call Break-in Service is to reach a customer whose wireline service is in a “busy” state, to verify that the line is in use and to interrupt a conversation that is in progress.
Given the widespread availability of alternatives to Call Break-In Service, use of the service is very low. Further, the system supporting the service is being decommissioned. Given this, we have submitted a formal request to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to discontinue offering Call Break-in Service, effective October 14, 2025. As of that date, Call Break-in Service will no longer be available.
