Does the AppGallery have my Canadian apps?

Huawei is rapidly building the Huawei AppGallery to be an open gateway to thousands of popular apps from all over the world. AppGallery is the third-largest app marketplace in the world. International and Canadian apps are added to the gallery regularly. You can find internationally popular apps such as TikTok, Snapchat, Microsoft Office and AliExpress, and Canadian apps such as Wattpad, Flipp, The Weather Network and Indigo.

Is it safe to download apps from the AppGallery?

Huawei AppGallery is designed to deliver a safe and secure user experience. Huawei AppGallery features a four-layer security system designed to detect malicious behaviour, facilitate privacy checks and ensure app security.

How do I register for the AppGallery?

Huawei AppGallery comes pre-installed on all new Huawei devices (e.g., P40 Pro) and is ready to use for free. When you set up your new Huawei phone, you will automatically be taken through the quick and easy process of creating (or logging in to) your personal Huawei ID. Huawei ID is a personal account that lets you seamlessly access and connect Huawei’s exclusive services, including AppGallery, Huawei Cloud, Health and more.

How do I get my apps onto my Huawei device and what if I can't find my favourite apps in Huawei AppGallery?

Here are two easy ways to install your favourite apps on your new Huawei smartphone.

1. You can find and install many popular apps via the AppGallery, if available.
2. You can use a web browser to access the web version of the app, and add it to the home screen as a shortcut.

If you still can't find your desired app, you can add your desired app to the "Wish List" in AppGallery. Huawei will notify you when the app is available in Huawei AppGallery.

Huawei is working with global app developers to continuously improve the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) platform to offer an incredible user experience.

Can I use other app stores on my phone?

Huawei AppGallery is the official app store for Huawei devices and comes pre-installed on the Huawei P40 Pro. Google Play Store is not available. Exercise caution when using app stores or downloading apps from sources other than the official Huawei AppGallery.

Can I get Google apps on my phone?

Currently, it is not possible to download Google apps on the Huawei P40 Pro. However, the Huawei P40 Pro comes with pre-installed easy-to-use apps such as Huawei Browser, to browse the web, and Huawei Cloud, for cloud storage. Google services such as YouTube and Google Maps can be used via the Huawei Browser, simply by visiting the desired web page.
