Building 5G right. Canada’s fastest 5G network is here.1
5G will be a true game changer for Canada.
5G is the next generation of wireless technology. With full deployment over the next few years, it will enhance the lives of all Canadians.
5G connectivity will enable immersive video and gaming experiences, remote telehealth, self-driving vehicles, and new applications that will change the way we work, live and play.
To fully realize the generational opportunities of 5G, massive investment in new wireless spectrum, technology and infrastructure is required, and Bell is leading the way to deliver Canadians the best 5G network in the world.
Bell 5G will offer unprecedented speed on 5G devices. Our 5G network is already in major markets, including select areas of Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montréal and the Greater Toronto Area, with more markets coming soon.
Not all 5G networks are created equal. While many may say they have 5G, it takes a leader in network innovation to build Canada’s best 5G network. Bell has the world-class infrastructure required to provide the coverage, reliability and support needed to deliver the network of the future.
What 5G will mean for Canada’s best network.3
Our 5G enables theoretical peak download speed of up to 1.7 Gbps* in major cities across Canada for an incredible mobile experience (average expected speeds between 69-385 Mbps in the Greater Toronto Area). Once future 5G technology is fully deployed, it will enable mobile experiences and applications that we can’t even imagine today.
Up to 100x faster speeds
Future 5G technology deployments will have theoretical peak download speeds that are up to 100x faster than 4G LTE. This means large files will be downloaded in seconds, videos will be streamed in the highest resolution, and you’ll benefit from an overall better experience.
5G will also provide faster Internet speed to users in remote areas that currently don’t have access to fibre technology.
Up to 1,000x greater capacity
Future 5G technology connected devices will be able to receive multiple streams of data, dramatically increasing their capacity to enjoy reliably fast speeds, even during peak times and at crowded events.
Up to 3x lower latency
Future 5G technology will allow devices to connect to one another with a lightning-fast response time. This opens up possibilities for real-time gaming, self-driving cars, and other immersive experiences that rely on real-time communication.
Enhancing the future with 5G.
Here are just some of the exciting new 5G-enabled experiences that will be eventually coming your way.
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR)
Enter immersive experiences with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). 5G’s lower latency and faster connections will make it possible to enjoy multiple views at live sporting and entertainment events, and view products in 360 degrees at enhanced shopping experiences.
Game like you do at home, wherever you go. 5G will support cloud gaming services with faster response times and console-quality performance, right on your mobile device.
Connected and self-driving cars
5G will eventually usher in a new era of driverless cars by enabling near real-time communication between devices. This will help us improve safety, manage traffic, and increase the efficiency of future connected cars.
Canada's fastest national 5G network is here.1
Bell is at the cutting edge of the world’s most advanced network
technologies. We are beginning the rollout of 5G in select cities with more to come.
Bell’s 5G network is expanding in Ontario, with many more cities, towns and communities across Canada coming soon.

*Speed, performance, and whether a 5G device uses the available 5G depends on various factors including topography, environmental conditions, the current serving radio conditions at your location, whether the device is actively downloading or uploading data and subject to Bell’s Internet traffic management practices (e.g., priority access to emergency personnel and critical infrastructure personnel). See bell.ca/ITMP. Outside 5G areas, 5G devices will continue to have access to our fastest 4G speeds available.
